So I missed a week. Thank goodness it wasn't an resolution for this year or I would have already failed. Luckily, I don't really do resolutions anymore. I am going more for intentions. A friend of mine shared hers with me they were really well constructed. I still am working out doing mine right. For now they are more like a task list. I will share them in detail at some point, just not today. They are all centered around two main things with a little 12 steps stuff. Those to main things should not surprise you if you know me; Yoga and Whole Food, Plant Based eating.
Speaking of whole food, plant-based eating, I helped organized a Engine 2 Seven Day Rescue at work. We have 33 participants and today is the seventh day. We will have biometric screenings tomorrow and a result reveal lunch. Jane Esselstyn of Health Care is Self Care will be there to join us. We are raffling off five copies of Rip Esslestyn's (Jane's brother) Seven Day Rescue book.
It has been a lot of fun and rewarding to see everyone take on the challenge.
Welcome to this week's Tao Te Ching verse. See here for what this is all about.
- Verse 26
- The heavy is the root of light.
- The unmoved is the source of all movement.
- Thus the Master travels all day
- without leaving home.
- However splendid the views,
- she stays serenely in herself.
- Why should the lord of the country
- flit about like a fool?
- If you let yourself be blown to and fro,
- youlose touch with your root.
- If you let restlessness move you,
- you lose touch with who you are.
- Verse 27
- A good traveler has no fixed plans
- and is not intent upon arriving.
- A good artist lets his intuition
- lead him where it wants.
- A good scientist has freed himself of concepts
- and keeps his mind open to what is.
- Thus the Master is available to all people
- and doesn't reject anyone.
- He is ready to use all situations
- and doesn't wast anything.
- This is called embodying the light.
- What is a good man but a bad man's teacher?
- What is a bad man but a good man's job?
- If you don't understand this, you will get lost,
- however intelligent you are.
- It is a great secret.
