So if you are following this Challenge (all two of you), you know that last week started of with a power outage at work so I didn't get to meet with the dietician. This week, however, I did get to meet with the dietician so I was able to update her on progress and get my bodyfat % checked with that doohicky. But before I reveal the latest and greatest numbers let me talk a little bit about this week.
So normally I spend my Sunday afternoons on the elliptical watching the Cleveland Browns. I started during last year's NFL season for two reasons 1) to do something other than sitting on the couch and stuffing my face, and 2) to protect my TV - last year's Browns were absolutely pathetic, even though they were better last year than under Pat Shurmur.
Anyway I really enjoyed it last year, so I decided I'd do the same this year. So normally that's about 2 1/2 hours on the elliptical with a 10-15 minute stretching break at half time. I don't push hard but I am moving the whole time and if the machines are to be believed I am burning 500-700 calories per half. I also do a 10-15 minute warm up on a stationary bike. So that's a pretty high calorie burn on Sundays which is great and besides being tired and sore afterward, I also really like it.
However, doing a repetitive motion for that long there is the possibility of tweaking something. Sure enough the previous week I bagged out on Spinning because my left knee area seemed to be tweaked so this week I decided I didn't want to bag on Spinning so instead of spending the second half of the Browns game entirely on the Elliptical, I spent the 4th quarter walking on a treadmill. So my knee felt pretty good going into Spinning which I ended up missing anyway. Bummer.
I did go to power yoga twice this week though. So that's good. Right now I am really liking yoga.
Okay, enough dilly dallying. Here's this week's numbers - I weighed on Wednesday morning(11/05) at 168.6 pounds, a 2.2 pound weight loss which puts my BMI at 28.06 which is enough to submit my waiver to get my 5% credit on my health insurance premiums. WOOT! We also checked the Body Fat % with her doodad and there was no significant change - it was 30.9% which is up .7% from week one but back down a September measurement which is good. Again, we don't know the week 1 results due to the power outage.
So this week was really exciting on another front - I met with Jane again which was great. But since that technically falls into week three (weeks start on Wednesdays), I'll write about that next week. So come back next week for that because it is really, really cool.
Last week I promised to post about some of the foods I have been making but 1)I need to get some stuff done, and 2)I decided it warrants it's own post. So be on the look out for that.
Stay Healthy and Be Plant Strong!
